Macroeconomic Forecasting Research Department

Our research function is not yet operational. We have developed a medium-sized flagship DSGE (Dynamic Stochastic General Equilibrium) (61 endogenous variables; of these 17 are state variables; there are seven exogenous variables and 10 forcing variables (shocks)) macroeconomic forecasting model that needs to be estimated econometrically. I (Dr. Daniel G. Swaine, Ph.D.) solved the model algebraically using Scientific Workplace and was in the process of estimating structural parameters in late 2012 and early 2013 when my beloved mother got very sick (suddenly) in January 2013 and then passed away suddenly on February 9, 2013. I continued work on estimating structural parameters until mother’s day 2013, when I stopped and then broadened the concept for the Institute. Planning for the Institute kept me so busy that I was not able to continue work on the model.

We need to hire a Ph.D. level economist and a research assistant in order to complete the model.

We need to hire an editor and a graphics designer in order to make our flagship journal operational.

In total, at a cost of about $500,000 per-year, which we need to earn, or raise.
